It's possible that the remote OS simply lacks the device drivers needed for the user's mouse and that using a different mouse solves the problem. I have tried looking in all the places I could think of where some hotkey may be activated (OSX mouse and keyboard settings, Windows mouse and keyboard settings, Remote Desktop mouse and keyboard settings) but have not found any solutions. First, try plugging in a different mouse - preferably one that has been proven to work in your remote desktop environment - into the user's machine. Additionally, the Windows keyboard shortcut to make the zoom tool appear is "Windows Key (CMD) + '-'"Īlso, when using Chrome in OSX, the middle mouse button click also seems to activate the zoom feature. I can tell that the PC thinks that it is receiving those two keys because if I'm am focused on a text box in the windows virtual machine a '-' character will appear in the box. It seems that somehow the PC is getting the key sequence "CMD + '-'" whenever I push the middle mouse button. Open Settings, and click Personalization. However, whenever I do this, the Windows zoom tool appears. The pretty simple fix is to edit the theme of the mouse cursor. By the time the OS is running and ready for login, the computer will have taken care of the issue on its own. With any luck, the computer will detect a missing or mangled device driver during the device enumeration phase at startup. To rotate a part in Solidworks, you click the middle mouse button an drag. Its not a cure-all, but restarting Windows 10 is a shortcut when the keyboard or mouse is not working. For my work setup I am using a MBP as my primary computer while using Remote Desktop to log into a PC to do CAD work (using Solidworks).
